James Callanan is an influential cinematographer whose work has been the staple of broadcast television for over twenty years.  

His work has won multiple awards including four Emmys and three Peabodies. 

His clients include PBS, NetFlix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO, FX, Nat Geo, ABC, NBC, CBS, Sundance, Discovery,  and international networks such as BBC, Canal Plus, Arté, and NHK.

In addition to his career as Director of Photography, James Callanan is proud of his role as camera operator on hit series such as ‘the Americans’, 'the GetDown', and ‘Flight of the Conchords’.

James Callanan is married to a lovely Finnish writer and is the happy father of two.  He lives in Brooklyn, New York and is available internationally.
